Due to renovation of the pumping station at lock Eefde, we build up a temporary pumping installation that was used for a period of more than 6 months. Capacity of 40.000 m3/hour.
In connection with the renovation of the lock complex at Eefde, we installed a temporary pump installation with a capacity of almost 40,000 m3 per hour with a discharge height of 8 meters.
The project was part of a UAV / GC contract (design & construct by system enginering) carried out by Cofely Zuid-Nederland on behalf of Rijkswaterstaat.
The temporary pump installation experienced a number of special challenges.
For example, the available space for the installation of the equipment was limited and at high water the pump installation could be flooded. Part of the piping had to cross the road without hindering traffic.
Because there was electrical power at work, no generators were needed.
However, this diet was limited so that high demands were placed on the design.
The operation of the entire installation was finally carried out in such a way that it could be operated from the 24-hour power station at Cofely in Maastricht.
In summary:
In 2018 we were again at this location: Lock Eefde 2018.
