Lock Eefde 2018

Temporary pump installation of 39,600 m3 / hour.

In commission of Rijkswaterstaat we have placed a temporary pump installation at the lock at Eefde. Until now, this installation is the largest temporary water supply in the Netherlands due to the persistent drought. The installed pumps have a capacity of 11 m3 / s (39,600 m3 / hour). The water is pumped from the IJssel into the Twente canal. The installation is necessary to keep the locks in the Twente Canal in operation. In addition, the Rhine and IJssel Water Board and the Vechtstromen Water Board are using water from the Twente Canal to maintain other waterways.

In 2015 we were also on this loaction: Lock Eefde 2015.
